On the GL1100 carbs, the accelerator pump is mounted to carb #3, but it is connected with plastic straws to all four carbs, so you should see fuel squirting into the throats of all four of them.

I would think that the 80 1100 and the 82 1100 have the same engine and carbs, the 82 1100I that I restored last winter, when you pump the accelerator pump, all 4 carbs got fuel at the same time. on the bench testing they all flooded together. :D :D

According to the parts fische the 83 requires 4 and 80/82 only require 1.

Ditto,I just had my carbs off for cleaning, when I hit the accelerator linkage all 4 had fuel squirting out.(82 aspy)

this particular set is actually a 81 1100 ! I have 2 more sets I guess Ill have to hook both up & test them - but on this set I always clean every port in every carb then blow them out with 90psi air then clean again & blow them out again (2-4 x) - when U remove the carbs from the plates that particular port on the carb face behind the plate that feeds the dwn tubes only 2 in this set is drilled thru & only 2 had that little wide O ring so (only 2 carbs are fed with the AC Pump) - maybe a factory mistake but I really dont think so - Talking to a pro he said that honda decided only 2 out of the 4 were needed for acceleration! MAYBE the year was specific but this is an 81 1100 tHANKS everyone! Just want to make sure & fix it if all 4 need fuel! The only 2 O rings when I took them apart tells the story!

I believe if you study vary vary carefully, you will find that all four spray. If I remember right, only #3 & #1 are drilled to flow through the plenumn, and #2 & #4 are connected to #3 & #1 with a small tube between them. The plastic tube in the plenumn is not necessary as it shrinks anyway.....you can see this if you completely disasemble the carb assembly.

Ok yeah-after a good night's sleep, and some black coffee, I went out and checked....if you look between your carbs on ether side and see a shaft, a small alum tube, and a larger alum tube, running from carb to carb, then, it is spraying in all four carbs. Those tubes have o-rings sealing them, and come with carb kits....now back to my coffee....

If the carbs have been opened or drained etc, it may take a while for all 4 carbs to spray due to the limited volume of the accelerator pump in relation to the volume(s) of the passage(s). It may start working soon after some usage, and may not have a problem.

If you have them off of the bike, before you put them back on get a 5 gallon bucket and a longer length of fuel hose. Set the rack on the bucket beside the left side of the bike and connect direct to the petcock. Turn it on and check for leaks at the bowl gaskets. Detach the hose and take the carbs outside and set them on something level and work the linkage & you should see gas squirt out of all 4 carbs. Also check under #3 carb to make sure the little O-ring between the bowl and carb body isn't leaking. (You can also drain the bowls when full to check the volume of each)

Thanks Overdog: I just made up a system with a low pressure 12V fuel pump to test everything on the bench! Should work good!
