First, welcome to the forum. I'm sure that your wife will love riding on a Wing. Mine says that she feels "safer" in the cushy seat.
To be honest, I would be leery of a bike that old with only 26k miles. It would have to be in great shape and have all maintenance records.
Also, for $2k you should be able to get into one at least a couple of years newer.
Right now it's a buyer's market. Check surrounding areas and you should be able to find a better one for the same $$.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

I am looking at the older wings because of leg room.. I am 6'4'' 250 with a bad knee and I have more room with the older ones I think. I would go in offering a lot less.

I too am looking to buy a gl1100. I found one for the same price $2000. I am hoping to get him to sell for $1500.

With only 26,000 on it --it means it has sat for several years. What ever bike you get change the timing belts asap unless the seller can show you paperwork where they have been recently changed. Broken belt good bye engine.

check the water pump weep hole if it's dripping after a 10 minute ride..knock of $200, check fuel pump weep hole if stained knock off $100, belts not changed lately knock off $75, check compression if not above 140 and even all around walk away the closer to 160-165 all the better, tires if over 5 years old or thread bare knock off $250, I could go on....

HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB
