81 Gl1100 rear brake torque link

Postby Bill Melater » Mon Feb 01, 2016 4:50 pm

81 GL 1100 Can anyone tell me if the rear brake torque link bolts (torque link is rod between the rear brake caliper bracket and the swing arm) gets torqued to a certain spec or are the bolts just snugged up? The bolt that goes to the swing arm has 2 lock tabs and the bolt that goes through the caliper bracket has a castle nut with a cotter pin, Thanks.

The service manual lists the rear caliper torque link at 16 ft-lb.

Thank you, is there a free download of the service manual on this site?
