You have a Standard or Interstate, but your new engine is from an Aspencade.

The Standard and Interstate have a two-wire gear position switch, and can detect when the bike is in neutral or in 5th (overdrive) gear.

The Aspencade can detect (and display on its digital dash) all of the gears, because it has a multi-position gear position switch.

To hook yours up, you will need to splice wires. You'll need to connect the Light Green/Red wire (neutral indicator) to the Green wire on your new engine's switch. For the Overdrive indicator, you'll need to connect the Green/Orange wire on your bike to the Black wire on the new engine.
