Step away from the forrest.
Just because you replaced the defective pieces doesn't mean that the one you got was in better condition than the original.
Run the tests to determine which part is making the noise...remove it and either replace it with new or refeb it to like new condition.
Spedo heads are a mechanical device..A cable driven shaft and just bushings to spin on..They will dry out...Some can disassemble one and renew the lube.Even a application of penatrating oil can help get things moving smooth again.Noisy drive cables are usually just replaced...I have had some luck with graphite lube in drive cables...

I had that with mine . In the end I lubed the speedo with some light grease, replaced speedo cable and also the little unit that goes in to the wheel housing as the old one was showing signs of breakdown. I now have a fully working speedo - not jumps no nothing.

I have heard of instances where the speedo cable end (the fits in to the wheel)has been inserted into the chuck of an electric drill (with variable speed) - start off with low speed and build it up to see if it is the speedo. If that is working OK with no noises replace speedo unit in front wheel.

As I say I replaced the lot except speedo itself.
