Hose rear master cylinder size

Postby auctioneeral » Tue Feb 23, 2016 7:30 am

Does anybody know the size of hose that goes from rear master cylinder to the cup tank.
I'm looking to replace it with nylon & stainless steel braided hose.
But I don't know the inside size.
Part number 43512-463-006 not available.

You don't really need to replace it with stainless braided line, as it is not under any pressure (which is what stainless braided is good for).

On the other hand, you may have a problem, because it does not have fittings - it's just rubber hose - and needs to be clamped in place in order to prevent leaks. Clamping stainless braided line can be problematic, because it only compresses so much until the braid won't compress any more.

Lastly, braided stainless lines, if they are not terminated properly at the end will fray as soon as you look at it wrong, and you'll have stray bits of stainless wire sticking out every which way - and those things HURT when you jam them into your finger (extensive experience talking here). Over time, the braided stainless will unravel completely.

I don't tolerate voluntary stupidity very well, and it seems to be rampant now-a-days.
