Radio help please

has anyone changed out the old radio on a gl1100a and how is the best way to do it , will a reg. radio fit where the old one goes or what can i do. i can rewire it or what ever i need to do, please help me, thanksa guys your the best

im sorry i just posted for help with my radio on my 82 gl1100a aspencade, i didnt relize the factory radios can be located in diffrent locations. mine is in the lower left panel. can someone explain step by step how i can put a newer radio in and throw that old junk clarion11 away, please help me, thank you

i would be happy to give it to you when i take it out, but i need to find a way to put a reg. one like i have in my truck first. i dont know what to do on just yet. i hope someone on here can tell me how to and if i can make an adapter plate to put one back in the left side lower panel where this comes out. i need ideas

Visit this^^^ guys have installed many different radios on their wings.Pretty much only limited to youre fabricating skills ;)

Most people who do this just rip out all of the radio controllers and modules, and install a car stereo in the fairing, just below the windshield.

I never listen to music anymore while riding, to me it takes away from the experience but I know different riders feel differently and that wasn't your question.
And my bike has 2 radio's the original and a aftermarket.
Another option is to wirelessly bluetooth music files you've stored or Pandora on a smart phone or Ipod thru a bluetooth speaker system or speakers in your helmet.

When I toured my GL 1800 with my wife along this is what I did, music, phone calls, detector alerts, and intercom all in one.
1982 GL 1100 Interstate SOLD
1977 GL 1000 Standard (naked can be good, who knew?)
