Snap ring pliers for forks

Postby vaughn » Tue Mar 08, 2016 12:39 pm

I need snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring on my forks on my 83 wing. The ones I have won't work. Does Harbor Freight have any that will work and clear the curved tube?

Pretty sure the Harbor Freight snap ring plier kit has a set of pliers with right angle ends that will do what you need.

Harbor freight set won't work.
How does anyone get those stinking things out? Can't buy good tools anymore.

What is not clearing? I know when I had problems like that before, I bought a set of the cheap Harbor Freight ones, then just bent them to fit. Another set didn't fit the holes in the snap ring, so I filed down the ends of the pliers. They're so cheap, they're practically disposable.

Walked away last night and today I was able to make them work. Got the new seal in and ready to fill with new fluid and put back on bike. Thank's
