rad fan
hello there can anyone help i have a 81 gl1100, the rad cooling fan does not seem to be kicking in and heats quickly when sitting im thinking sensor but i need location of it thanks bye the way great site

First check to see if the fan motor will run.Pull the right side fairing lower off and you should be able to see the wires for the fan motor ,its a tight squeeze but you should be able to unplug the connection and add power to see if the blades move,if yes then reconnect .next step ,just below that there is a black rubber boot/connection with two wires . it goes to the sending unit/sensor in the thermostat housing,jumping those two wires should turn the fan motor on(watch your fingers)
