Rebuild or not?

Postby echinus1988 » Sat Apr 02, 2016 3:55 am

Just an interesting picture. I wasn't going to take apart my front master cylinder. Needless to say I am sure happy I did. It was worth doing it and making sure it was done right.

The picture says it all.

It sure needes to be cleaned up real good. Don't forget the tiny hole for the return fluid.

Preventative maintenance goes a long way! Good thing you caught that. Regards, Johnny

Funny you mention that small return hole.

I did a thorough cleaning and replaced all the fluid and for some reason it still clogged on me. I just took it apart and rebuilt it again. Not sure what I missed but I really made sure that I cleaned that little tiny hole again.

Now I have to buy the new caliper pistons for the front. I have a small leak that says to me that I have a burr on one caliper so I'm replacing both and getting that out of the way. After all, stopping is just as important as moving.

Now if I can get the carbs fixed correctly, I'll have it made! Taking them out again next weekend to try once more and see if I can figure them out.
