Welcome to the forum.
Since the carbs have been rebuilt, the first thing that comes to mind would be that the floats are incorrectly set.
This will cause flooding and "Hydrolock" (when the cylinder fills with gas and the engine cant turn over, possibly bending a rod.)
If they were commercially rebuilt, take them back. Regards, Johnny

Bike on the center stand and level..then pull the air box off or at least the cover and look into the plenum..to see where the fuel is pooling from. If you pull the carbs, which you will probably have to...take the caps off..level the carbs on a work bench..attach a fuel source..now look down the throat tops..gas up through a.the jets = bad float needle or seat or float setting..

if no leaking there look in plenum for a leak at the carb to plenum d rings or the plenum center gasket. A piece of paper cut to fit in the plenum before you start makes it easy to see where the leak starts..
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB
