Hondaline Radio Wiring Harness

Postby Z28Ranger » Sun May 01, 2016 11:32 pm

All, I have installed the Hondaline radio components into the faring of my 1980 GL 1100 using the Honda installation instructions. For the most part, all went well. However, in order to complete the installation, it requires an "auxiliary" wiring harness, which appears (from the diagrams) to be a short set of bundled wires with 4-5 different colored connectors that connects the radio head to the tuner and handlebar controls. The installation cannot be completed without this harness, but I have never seen this in any of the components I've looked at over the last couple of years. I could cut the factory connectors and splice the wires directly, but I'd rather do it with the original components. Does anyone have any information about this? Know who might have one? Thanks for any help.

Do NOT cut the wires. You will need the colored connections later on.
Call Sierra electronics as they do know these dinosours.
They will tell you exactly what you need.
