REMOVING CARBS

Postby OTTERCOMET » Mon May 02, 2016 9:36 am

I am an old guy but a rebuild rookie - so please go easy.
I'm preparing to attack the carbs on an 82 GL1100I. There is a plate running in front of the carbs, that appears to be part of the upper fairing and it also appears that it might interfere with sliding the carb assembly out once it is free of the engine. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Not an issue..., take seat, false tank and airbox off, loosen the left side crash bar, take off the 8 intake bolts, disconnect the fuel line and choke cable, remove the two right side caps, side the carbs to the left a few inches..then take off the throttle cables..now you can side then off the engine.

several how threads here and on other sites for carb removal and cleaning.
