Wire / cable routing

Postby Randiana » Tue May 03, 2016 5:49 pm

Thanks to listers, I have got my new fairing and bracket, but I forgot to take a picture or pay attention to one thing ( at least so far) When you put the main bracket on do the wires and cables along the frame go inside or outside the vertical bracket arms that go up and bolt to the frame with the through bolt? Thanks in advance. Randy

Thanks, where did the diagrams come from. I have the Honda manual that had an unclear picture. I didnt find the ones you had. It looks like the stuff goes outside the bracket. That seemed to fit best when I put it together, but it seemed that things would rub on the sharp of the bracket upright. No smudge marks to tell the tale.

That's directly from the Honda service manual.

Update The wire cable bundles run on the inside of the frame bracket uprights, it just takes some finagling to get them pulled in to clear as the narrow part of the bracket goes upward. It relaxes once you get to the wider part. It would be much easier with two people or three hands. Now another question. There is a small vac /drain line that runs up toward the top and hangs down by the lower front of the motor. Neither end is connected, but the upper end looks like it has been on a nipple. Any thoughts? i cant find anything in the Honda diagrams that looks similar.
Thanks again Randy

Just a wrapup and thanks to all. Wound up using the 83 wiring harness in the 82 shell. Everything went back together stock and all funactions seem to be OK. Now to decide on which farkles to keep. Randy
