cee bailey's windshield gl1100

Postby halberk » Tue May 24, 2016 6:27 pm

Just got my windshield in from Cee Bailey windshields for my GL 1100. Looks like a nice windshield but I ordered a tinted one. Called them up and they said that was as dark as they could go. I can't tell any difference. It looks clear to me. Don't believe they're going to do anything about it. Don't pay the extra $20 for the tint. You will be disappointed     :x

just an idea here...........if you want it tinted, can you take it to a auto window tint shop and have it done? not sure how much they would charge for it, but you might want to look into it.

The picture does show a very small amount of tint. My Tulsa Tall is much darker than that so it can legally be done. Good suggestion with the auto tint shop.

well, i figure if a auto window tint shop can do car windows, why not a motorcycle windshield. i mean a motorcycle windshield is a smooth sorta flat surface right?

Y'all aren't paying very close attention. I paid extra for the tint already. Anyhow. It doesn't matter. They sent me a reply this morning and said that was as dark as they could go even though their website as other windshields that almost look like limo tint. You're not supposed to look through the windshield anyway. I don't think "window tint" would weather very well out in the elements. I don't think they're supposed to put it on plexiglass anyway. I'm sure it would start looking hazy or something. I am done with this subject and just going to keep the windshield

sorry to hear about your bad purchase experience, i was just trying to suggest an alternative solution. i have a very tall wrap around windshield on my 1100 and its not tinted and i always look thru it wishing there was something i do about the sun glare i get from it. i was thinking about putting a 3 inch wide strip of window tint on the inside top so it would tint the windshield just enough to shade the late afternoon/evening sun as it glares into my eyes. having a 3 inch strip would bring it down just above eye level. there is a auto shop in my area that does window tinting and im gonna take the bike to them and ask them if its possible to put a tint strip onto it and i'll let ya'll know what i find out.

below is a pic of how tall my bike's windshield is.

cool. Let me know how it works out. I don't like looking through my windshield just because of that spider web sunlight shining through it thing. I like looking over my windshield about an inch

when i do, i'll let ya know. i like looking thru mine especially out on the interstate at speeds over 65 mph. it keeps my teeth "bug free", and i dont have to worry about getting a stiff neck from the wind buffeting my head and i can smoke a cigarette without having it burning into my face :D.
