How to swap fairing for a sport windscreen

Post by gerald collins » Sat May 28, 2016 1:21 am

Hi Guys, I want to do away with the fairing on my 83 Interstate and install an aftermarket headlight and windscreen. I would like to obtain some headlight ears that will install without removing the fork tubes. Anyone with experience in this procedure? I'm hoping the electrics will be
relatively easy to sort out. Help readily accepted. Any preference as to windshields that mount on the bars versus the fork tubes? I replaced my rodent chewed wiring harness today with relatively little fanfare. A job I thought would be really tough wasn't so much. Feels good when something goes right. :D Gerald in Atlanta.

The ears are the hardest to find when getting rid of the fairing.
Make sure you take the weight off if you take the faring off.
