Nashville bound, keeping it on the trailer,,???

Post by velvetrider » Sun Jun 05, 2016 12:08 pm

I am going with the tie downs I choose. but I can NOT find a decent example of where to attach tie downs for my 1100 I. I see posts for 1500s and stuff but no where is there an example of the best place to attach straps. I have 2 'soft tie' straps for front and after consideration decided on engine
guards. What is the consensus on the best place to place straps...???.

I use 2 soft ties on triple tree making sure they don't hit brake lines.
Then I take the side covers off and attach to the frame. I have never used the engine guards. I have done it this way on my 83 Aspencade and on the 1500 I used to have. Never had a problem. Engine guards are too low anyway. Triple tree gives best support. Just don't compress the forks any more than necessary. Make sure you use a good wheel chock.
