aftermarket ignition switch 82 gl1100

Postby subliminalgoldwing » Mon Jun 13, 2016 2:32 pm

Hey there, I am not very good with electrical and I need to get my 1982 GL1100 going. I bought a universal ignition switch for my bike (because unfortunately someone tried to steal it) and I need help understanding the wiring diagram. Here is the instructions that came with the switch. Any help would be amazing. I don't understand which wires go where.

Please help. Thank you for the site.

The solid red wire will go to terminal 1.

Solid black wire will go to terminal 2.

Light green/black wire will go to terminal 3.

The other wires, which are used for the parking light/circuit, will not be used, as your switch doesn't have the facility to switch it. Insulate them and tie them off, leaving them unconnected.

awesome it worked. Thank you so much. I hate thieves. They tried stealing my bike and failed but left a mess in their wake. Thank you again.
