What speedo cable do I need?

Post by Monsignore » Tue Jul 12, 2016 9:44 am

I just swapped out the speedometer drive motor on my new-to-me- '83 GL1100i.

You can see the inner doohickey that turns the speedo drive looks pretty good.

Turns out it wasn't a direct replacement. The old one is on top.

The replacement cable I have requires a set screw parallel to the cable, like the old busted one. The new speedo drive requires a cable with a set screw perpendicular to the cable.

My question: Do any of you know what replacement cable I should be looking for? Year? Model? Vendor?

The BOX, Assy, speedometer gear is #44800-NBO-013

cable assy, speedometer is #44830-mb9-780

I had the same problem about 6 months ago.

The 80 - 82 will not interchange on this.
