Hi riders & wrenchers

I've just bought a Goldwing GL1100A trike '83.
I'm partly injured, bad spine etc.

On start up, 'N' is displaying and then selecting '1st' gear on the led instrument panel
1 is displaying. Then nothing is displaying for '2' & '3' gears?
I've never seen '2' or '3' displayed at all?

'4' & 'OD' is displaying and then going down the gearbox,
'3' followed by '2' is visually missing?

Is it the front wheel gear sensor? or its cable or the instrument panel?
Has anyone ever had this happen?

Many thanks for any advice Wingers!

Best

OK.the 83 aspencade has a different switch than the 83 interstate and standard.
The 83 aspy is shown in this schematic. Each wire should go to ground as the gear is selected.
The Other models do not have the digital display and show only neutral and OD.

I would suggest to get to the plug from the switch(front of the bike) disconnect it and test the switch continuity or as you short each wire to ground, the appropriate indicator should light up.
