rear end gear case filler cap.

Postby jjunkin1 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 10:03 am

I was just cleaning up on bike and noticed some oil on the rear end and tire. I figured it was a seal. Pulled the filler bolt out to check the fluid and the threaded end of the plug broke off. Lucky there was no torque on it as it was almost out.

Does anybody happen to know what years ran that same rearend? Or a substitute plug size?

Bike is 81 1100I

I guess I need to spend some money with my local bike shop. He didn't have any in stock so he got in his truck and said follow me. We went to his house. Turns out he is a wing lover. We pulled one off a doner bike and he would not take any money.
This from a guy who earns his living selling parts. What a guy.

That's really cool of him. It has been my experience that people who love old bikes like these take care of each other. I've had similar experiences in the SOHC4 community.

Pretty much all of the shaft drive Hondas use that same cap, so they are definitely not hard to find.

That is what he said wingadmin. He was just out of stock in the store.
