Single Sided Swingarm on GL1100?

Postby Ron99 » Sat Jul 23, 2016 4:15 pm

I recently picked up a non running '83 GL1100 and plan to rebuild it cafe racer style. I was wondering if anyone has put a later a single sided swingarm (or a custom built one) on an older GL1100? Is this feasible or is the frame too flimsy to support that?

Never seen one but I have seen a lot ofsinglesided swingarms on CBXs that have been upraded. Great example in the most recent edition of Cycle World. Many have used the swingarm from the VT/Interceptor. I guess today you could also use the one on the GL1800. No question it is designed for the weight and power!

All such a project takes is time and lots of money.
