Does anyone know how far the plastic tube that goes between the plenum halves is supposed to be inserted into carb #3 ?

Ok I understand what you are saying, the carb straw is 73.25mm but the plenum depth on one side where the #3 carb is mounted is 31.05 deep so the straw is only inserted 5.57mm into the hole in the plenum? On the other plenum where the #2 carb is mounted the depth is even greater 45.43mm. I am assuming the straw goes in carb #3 ? It just seems like 5.57mm isnt a lot of straw inserted into carb #3 or am I way over thinking all this?

OK RBGERSON..... disregard my entire post. I'm such a dummy. I was trying to install the "straw" somewhere it didnt belong. I found a picture of where its supposed to go and now all is good. When I separated the plenums it was not installed in the accelerator pump circuit which means the dealer shop that supposedly rebuilt the carbs for the last owner put it in the wrong spot also. No wonder the bike ran like crap. Sorry for all the confusion but thank you for your help.
