Doing fork seal replacement/accidently pulled speed sensor wiring out from harness, need to know location where wires go

Postby thunderwing » Sat Aug 13, 2016 5:41 pm

Since I had a stuck snap ring on one fork I popped the fork tube out, and my speedometer connection from the front wheel got popped out, so now I need to know where the wires connect. I had put the front wheel to the side without removing the connection from the wheel sensor for ease of reinstalling so now i'm paying the price for that short cut.

It's an aspencade so does any one have a picture or reference as to where that connection goes to (a picture from under the fairing perhaps!?!).....It's 3 wires in a protective black sheath.

I'd like to have a working speedometer when I'm done with the job.

Taking my time with the job, and it's these little things that make it more fun. Can't wait to finish this and get back in the saddle.

Best,

Scott

Did some research......off with the fairing and it's behind the counterweight a 3 prong connection.

Thank you to self for responding! LOL

There's a huge nest of connectors behind that counterweight.

Fixed the connection, and yes there are pile of connections behind the counterweight. Managed to put the wires back into the three pronged connector.

Had a problem bleeding the brakes until I replenished the rear master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid....now brakes are great after replacing the fronts. Took a few 30-40mph abrupt stops to seat the brakes correctly.

All is well in my wing world again!!
