Fuel Pump Rebuild

Post by phantmotw » Sat Aug 13, 2016 9:20 pm

Has anyone successfully rebuilt a fuel pump for a Goldwing, I have rebuilt the carbs and adjusted them twice, but I'm not getting fuel to all the carbs any suggestions?

Have you performed a test on the pump? Verify it isn't working so you're not chasing problems not there.

simple answer yes..but takes some time and attention to detail..like drilling and tapping the shaft.

The pump is pumping, but I don't know at what pressure.

test the flow..15oz. per min at 3,000rpm's take the line off the pump out flow hook up anpther tubs into a jar start the bike measure result. There is a weep hole on teh back side of the pump if it's not weeping the pump should be Ok..

Thank you for your reply, I just bought a pressure gauge hopefully I'll get my answers that way.

There have been successful and unsuccessful rebuilds using different diaphragm materials.

Two explanations here: http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/page/ST

RB already gave you the answer. These pumps are tested at flow rate, not pressure. If your pump passed the flow test, your rebuild was done incorrectly.
