Primary chain

Post by bigguy » Tue Aug 23, 2016 7:48 pm

My friend has a Honda v45. His primary chain is loud and he was quoted 1000 dollars to fix it. I always thought there was an adjustment on these bikes. Anyone have an ideas?

On the Goldwing, a loud primary chain is normally caused by poor carb sync. That's a 15 minute job, and I would be running away from a dealer that quoted me $1000 to fix it.

early models had no adjustment ~ 78 the tensioner became spring loaded, even with that, the chain can still stretch beyond limits but most likely only with xtreme mileage
