I am trying to find instructions to remove the rear diff and to fit a replacement but I cant seem to find anything in the guidance manual section or on Youtube. Can anyone please guide me to some please. Any videos or pics would be helpful. Thanks.

Lookup removing rear wheel..it's the same..some stuff you can leave like calipers..

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=73

basically : bike on center stand , support rear wheel, open pinch blots remove axle, take off right side shock bottom tight it back, remove three bolts on shaft housing..pull pumpkin off..

Does it just slide out on a spline ? Or is there anything else to remove inside or is it connected to anything? Just intrigued so i get it right.

Just pull it out, after undoing the three nuts on the swing arm. Nothing to it. Just remember to moly the splines before reinstalling the new one. 8-)
Ride safe, Todd

Thanks for information. Looks pretty straight forward. Will have a go at that on Tuesday when I am free.

Just to update you my 82 Aspencade is back on the road and running! New stainless steel brake lines back and front, a working replacement of the rear master cylinder, replaced vented rear brake rotor/disc with solid rotor, replaced 32mm caliper with 30mm caliper and replaced the pistons with new ones. Also i have put in a replacement headlight unit with a working mechanism. Bike starts on the button every time despite being laid up for 14 months. Still not happy with carbs - low revs its chunters and farts until engine warmed up. Then I can drive away. accelerates well and very lively over 2500 revs - when spring comes I will fit the replacement set of carbs that i bought about 9 months ago which is in storage in a box under our stairs in the house. Been out a few times with bike and hoping to do a round trip of 400 plus miles mid November. Will be trying out the bike in the coming weeks.

Thanks for advice from everyone who replied.
