Passenger/trunk accessory pouches

Postby Fabricator1978 » Wed Oct 12, 2016 4:53 pm

Greetings all;

I am hunting a new/replacement set of passenger/trunk accessory pouches for my GL1100. I am considering the use of military style "admin pouches" (available in black) if the search continues to turn up dry. Pictured below is the trunk and old pouches for clarification.

Cheers,

Chris

New isn't going to happen since these were made for bikes that are pushing 40 years old. I needed one for my '80 and watched ebay and grabbed one when it came up. It looked great, cosmetically, but was just as rotten as the one I was replacing. :x :x
Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did.

Update;

I have a pair of black reproduction pouches in route from an EBay seller. He has nice looking sets (seat cover, back rest and pouches), but did not list the pouches separately. I messaged him about a "pouch only" deal; he quickly agreed and sent me an invoice.

I'll post pictures when they arrive!

Cheers!

Here is a link to the seller ad for a full set of seat covers. Use the "contact seller" or "ask seller a question" option to inquire about the pouches only. He followed up with me directly and sent me a PayPal invoice for the pouches. I mentioned that there were other folks hunting these and if he allows it, I'll add his email in a bit.

Hopefully the link pasted ok.

Very cool. I wish I'd known about this guy when I was looking for replacements for mine. That's a lot cheaper than I could have gotten a local upholsterer to make me a set. Thanks, man.

The pouches arrived! I am pleased and heartily recommend these to those seeking an OEM appearance. Visit the EBay link I provided above and message the seller about "pouches only". Like the OEM pouch, I suggest strengthening the connection between the luggage and the pouch; once I cook something up, I'll upload pictures for others.

PS: Be cautious opening the mailer if you order these, as the seller simply places them in a priority mail bag and careless application of tools (scissors and/or knife) will cause you grief.
