The seat pan will be the limiting factor as to what will fit on a 1980 GL1100. If you started with an original 1980 or 81 seat and had an upholstery shop reshape the foam and make a custom cover in the style you like, it could be made much more like the GL1000 style seats. I think the only difference in 80-83 seats is that the 83 seat is just a little longer than the rest. It still fits the earlier bikes but it closes the gap that exists between the back of the fake gas tank and the front nose of the seat.

Found a seat used on an advertising site. Seems to get me further back on the bike. Or i can use it for making my ovn custom seat.

That looks like someone used an original seat and did just what I suggested in my earlier reply. What bike does the advertisement say it is from? It's the right idea but I think the foam reshaping and the custom cover could have been done a lot better than that one. If it's cheap enough then it might make a good basis for your own restyling and recovering to make a seat that you like for your bike. If you waited and got an original seat that nobody has messed with then you could include the chrome strips that go around the bottom of the original seat in your new design. The styling is a personal thing so you would have to make up your own mind as to what you're ultimately after and how much money you want to invest into something custom.

Its supposed to be for an gl1100. About 40$. What about the company name under? Bying it in a package with an aluminum radiator, complete carb set and the carb chrome pieces.

$40 for a seat, 4 carburetors, and a radiator? That's a good price for everything you're getting! You can still use that seat as is for right now, if you want, and think about changing it later if you decide you want a custom seat made out of it to your specifications. I've never heard of Desert Custom Works so I can't comment on their reputation.

Sorry. Poorly explained. The Seat was about 40. The whole package cost me around 250$. The radiator is new.
