Hi All
Got a question for yall. How do I tell on my 1982 Goldwing if its a Aspencade, a Interstate, or just a GL1100. On the gas tank it says Aspencade. but it has badges in box that says Interstate On the valve covers it only says GL1100

Look at the steering column. There is a vin plate there and it will say year and bike and where it was produced.

That plate should say

Gl110082--basic
GL1100A82--Aspencade
GL1100I82--Intwerstate

You can also check the #'s on the carbs and on the engine. Then use google.

Interstate: Analog gauges. Aspencade: Digital gauges.

1HFSC0206CA206408

1hf--Honda mfg'ed in usa

fs020--Vehicle description code

6--check digit -no direct bearing on the vds

c-- model year c is 82 b=81 x=99

a--plant = Ohio factory in USA

206408--sequential production number

Here is a pic of my vin. At the very bottom it says 1983 i (hard to see in pic) before the giant 1983. Click on photo to enlarge. That is where your vin should show you what model you have.

Ok here is what I found on forks today

Right fork # 1HFSC0206CA206408

Left Fork # 1HFSC0206A208405

On engine # I think as far as I can tell SC02E 2206529

Also says its a 1982 GL1100

As far as I can see this is the right numbers.
I have the title # which match the vin #

The pics show an Interstate. You have the Analog gauges So it is not an Aspencade.

The oil sight glass is on the right side under your heel. You have to get on the ground on your hands and knees to see it. I see it in your second pic. below the fuel pump. Take a small screw driver and wipe the wiper on the inside of the glass.

The only difference between basic and interstate is the interstate has the fairing, bags, and radio.
If parts are a concern almost all parts will interchange from 80 to 83.
