Fuel leaking out of exhaust ah man

Post by littlebeaver » Sun Oct 31, 2010 6:42 pm

I am getting gasoline leaking out of my number 4 exhaust pipe at the header, I need some good advise here, do I need to change out the float valve needle and seats ??? I already checked the petcock valve and it's closed and doesn't leak, right now I have the carbs off and I have looked at the float valve needle it seems to have a little ring around the rubber tip on both 2 and 4 cylinders is this the culprit?? I have the floats spot on and when it's running the bike idles perfectly..just has this leak now..any help would be really nice.. :(

It's a pretty good chance that yeah, the float for that carb is either misadjusted or (more likely) sticking. Sometimes a sharp rap on the carb (followed by some Seafoam) can unstick it and fix the problem - otherwise, you'll have to open it up.
