Re: turn signal buzzer
I've had a couple of 1100s and I don't know what a turn signal buzzer is. Must be something else you're seeing. But then I haven't had an Aspencade and there is a thread referring to one.
BTW you're right down the road from me and I ride there all the time. I rode down to Clay City on Saturday but it was too windy to keep going south on 159, So I headed north with the wind. Let me know if you can't figure this out.

Re: turn signal buzzer
The buzzer is designed both to let you know you have left the turn signal flashing and to warn pedestrians, who are about to cross the side street that you are turning into, that you are about to run them down! Not sure about the 1100's, but on the 1000's, it is mounted on the left of the headlamp, on the inside of the chrome bracket.

Re: turn signal buzzer
82 has self cancelling turn signals so it doesn't have a buzzer.

Re: turn signal buzzer
Maz is right about the purpose of the warning buzzer. I suspect it is more to warn the rider his signal is on rather than warn pedestrians. When I rode my 1980 Interstate home from the sellers house the day I bought it the buzzer scared the hell out of me the first time I heard it go off! I thought the bike was about to self destruct or something. I can laugh about it now but at the time, just for a few moments, I figured I was screwed. I feel sorry for the poor drivers who were around me right at that moment
The little speaker that the noise comes from is just under the top triple tree beside the left fork tube. It's white plastic and is a little bigger around than the diameter of a quarter and faces straight back at the false gas tank.

Re: turn signal buzzer
Thanks all for the replys I only asked because ive been having issues with my turnsignals and all the wiring diagrams ive found show the 82i having one.
Re: turn signal buzzer
Well they havnt ever worked right since ive had it. When I would push the switch left or right the lights would come on but not flash. I went to replace the flasher and found that if I touched the flasher while the key was on and turnsignal switch engaged left or right then the lights would flash everytime i touch it. I was getting by just manually pushing the switch while making a turn but now that doesnt work either. I do currently have led lights on the rear and none on the front because the ones I have are only two wire and I want marker and turn signals up front so I'll have to get a different 3 wire set. I also replaced the flasher to accommodate the led lights but that still didnt help. Ive bought a new headlights/turnsignal switch that said would work on this bike but it doesnt have the two prongs on the side like the stock one that are for the two wires coming out of the clutch lever. Im not sure what those wires are for and if they are absolutely necessary so I don't know if this switch will work. Also the flasher has two pins but there are three wires that run to it so I may have the wrong one but the one replaced was only two pin. I think that basically sums it up. Any thoughts or advice would be apriciated thanks.

Re: turn signal buzzer
If the lights come on there is nothing wrong with the switch. It usually doesn't matter but you might try reversing the wires on the flasher.
