Kickstand?

Postby rjbrownley » Thu Feb 03, 2011 8:55 pm

When my 83 GL1100 is on the kickstand, it is upright too much. Does anyone know if you can adjust the kickstand so that the bike leans more? My bike is susceptable to tipping over the way it is right now.

The problem is most likely tired springs in your rear suspension. I had the same problem with mine, and always worried that the wind was going to blow it over.

When I replaced my rear shocks with new Progressive 416's, the bike sat up so much higher, that when on the sidestand, it leaned much farther over. I no longer worry about it blowing over.

I bet its a little hard to put up on the center stand too. Like WingAdmin says tired rear springs.I rebuilt my stock shocks using Progressive springs, fixed the problem and wasnt very expensive at all

you could get them directly from http://www.progressivesuspension.com/ or your favorite bike shop would be happy to bring them in for you.
I ordered the spring kit for both front and rear, makes a world of difference in the handleing . Sagged out springs suck. The Progressive springs have a lifetime warranty
