Fork Seals?

Postby rjbrownley » Fri Feb 04, 2011 9:07 pm

I need to replace the fork seals on my 83 GL1100, as they are leaking bad. Does anyone have a how-to on how to replace the seals?

you need to get a hold of/download a service manual for you bike, they are quite good at showing the steps needed to do your own maintainance. The top left hand corner of these pages is a good place to start. Click on the "Manuals" button and go from there.

While you have the forks apart you might as well replace the bushings and install those new http://www.progressivesuspension.com/ springs you are going to buy.

If you still need more help dont hesitate to ask, thats why we are all here.

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape!
