Replace Flasher

Postby Oldbro » Tue Sep 08, 2009 11:32 pm

What replacement flasher can I use for my GL1100 Interstate? Mine works but is takes about 15 minutes of riding before it will start working. My battery is good, everything electric works good. Do I have to take my false tank off to change my flasher?

I replaced mine (and so have quite a few other people) with this electronic flasher from SuperbrightLEDs. It works very well and is a plug-in replacement for the original.

An added bonus is that it will flash LED signal lights without having to add ballast resistors, so you can swap out your old power-sucking light bulbs for LED bulbs, without having the fast-flash problem you'll have with regular flashers.

And yes, you have to remove the tank to change the flasher - it is underneath the tank, on the left side. The original flasher is a round silver canister, in the shape of a miniature can. It is fastened to the bike with a rubber strap.
