Postby littlebeaver » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:29 pm

Guy's I have installed a auto type stereo on my bike, I have seen hand controls on the left side of the handlebars my question is can I use any type controls or what, for the volume and do I just tie into the wires in the rear of the stereo unit or what do I need to do, I have never done it..81 interstate..Thanks

The hand controls on the left side connect directly to the factory Clarion radio, and it has specific inputs for them. I doubt your auto radio will have this type of input. If you feel adventurous you could take apart your new radio and solder wires into the existing buttons, then connect those to your handlebar switches.

So that's what I need to do, go to the sound switches, sounds easy enough..this is something I really don't need because it's simple enough to reach up and turn it down right in front of me, I just like the idea I can do it from a left hand control, maybe change the stations too..I hope I don't get too lost in my adventure.. everything is push button anyway so it's already probably good enough, I always wanted to know though..Thanks''
