Vetter soft pocket cover replacement

Postby bcnv1100 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 7:56 am

Hey, The left pocket cover on my vetter fairing needs replace, snaps wont stay and one is missing. Has anybody seen some type of modification away from the snaps? For one it seems really hard to find a new one to replace and if i do i dont want to be in the same situation in a year or so when another snap pops off. I would really like a hard cover like the right side but something hinged that didnt have to be locked/unlocked each time. Any ideas???

I replaced mine with an aftermarket one I bought online - fresh snaps, marine-quality vinyl, it's been on there for a couple years now and works great. I got it from eBay here.

Bummer that ebay one is for oem honda fairings. I have the vetter. Not sure if i want to keep it or switch to a batwing. But that will be awhile so I still need a cover that dosnt flap in the wind.

Oh, duh - didn't read the "Vetter" in your subject. Sorry about that.

That said, some vinyl, strong thread and a snap installer and you could make your own replacement - if you're at all adept at sewing.

Take the cover to a good shoe repair shop. They can reenforce it and install missing snaps or make you a new one. The shoe repair shop in my area gets lots of biker business fixing covers and jackets and anything else people bring in.

I have a set (R&L) off an old Windjammer in very good condition. Only problem is that the previous owner dyed the 2 straps on the top blue. Other than that, they're good.
