Front Wheel Disk

Postby mikem » Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:23 pm

My GL1100 Std front Disk are worn I replace the bearings and seals and bought EBC disk for my bike. My problem is the new disk are made with a rivet and it hits the tab on the caliper mount just so close. There should be a .7 mm space if not adjust the fork leg in or out. Where is the fork leg adjust in or out for the left side.

A bit confusing but , there are no "adjustments" ,the caliper is pinned as a floating caliper.

I would contact EBC, they have been around a long time and have a reasonable reputation. They might have sent you the wrong disk or be able to offer some advise.

Talked to EBC Brakes Tech Support. The problem is the caliper mounting bracket had molding tabs still in place. The top tab was hitting the reverts after removing this problem solved. I have .7 mm on both side.

Glad to hear you got it resolved. Like you I have had limited success with EBC customer support over the last 30 years so I don't like them, but they are still in business so many people must. Glad to hear you managed to contact their customer support eventually and get it resolved.
