you try a swivel socket extended..works for me..it is a tight fit..is the shifter lever off? Also a good replace start from DB electronics $76 new shipped. But sometimes just clean out the starter may bring it back to life, a lot of carbon crap in there and a carbonized commutator will stop it from working. Following the How to's on checking for shorts first..and be careful not to spin off the stud and break the joint in the starter circuit..hold the lower nut while you loosen the upper nut..
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
