Ticking noise

Postby tallman21 » Fri May 13, 2011 4:24 pm

Ok here is one for you guys to mull over.

When my bike is running now there is a slight ticking noise coming from the engine. It sounds like it is coming from the top and left of the engine. I hear it more when the RPMs are up. Also when i give it some throttle I also hear a slight Tinking noise coming from the left top of the motor. It only makes the tinking sound when im giving it full throttle as if to pass someone.

I dont notice and difference in performance, just the sound worries me.

Any ideas?

I'm wondering if it's detonation. Try a tank of higher octane fuel and see if it disappears.

Would not hurt to run a couple bottles of sea foam through it also , clean it up for the summer
