Paint Colour
Seeing that the PO had the bike apart and parts in storage, the fairing and the plastic has been cosmetically damaged with scratches. So the current colour is wineberry, but what colours actually look good on the wing?
Re: Paint Colour
nobody has ideas? I guess I'll try cadpat/marpat
and see if it looks cool

Whatever color you like...I'm pretty sure what I would pick would not be favored by a lot of people.

Re: Paint Colour
I don't want to paint it hot pink or some other colour outside of the man spectrum of colours.WingAdmin wrote:Whatever color you like...I'm pretty sure what I would pick would not be favored by a lot of people.

Re: Paint Colour
If I told you the color I liked, then there might be ANOTHER bike that color running around.
Go with what YOU want. Even if you're colorblind.

Re: Paint Colour
burgendy definately doesn't work, gonna try flat olive green, I think that will work. If it does, all I need to do is talk to my buddy about powder coating the chrome flat black and maybe a set of new pipes in flat black or matching green.

My '83 is still being discussed since I will want something more...

Re: Paint Colour
black with red pearl.........wish I had of thought of that. I have a friend who is a photoshop guru who is going to do a mock up for me to see if it works, instead of trial and repaint. We also thought up big flake metallic red and pearl white with metalic silver pinstriping.

Re: Paint Colour
Macka, the only thing with the large flakes is that it takes ALOT of clear coat to keep it nice and smooth, these wings are mostly plastic, the more clear you have to use ,the easier it is to "crack" the paint,, im sure you have seen this on some cars with plasyic bumpers. and once you have that it really sux tryin to get it down to paintable again,
go with a smaller flake and 3,maybe 4 coats clear,,use plenty flex additive in your paint ,and a good adhesion spray on your parts,,bulldog 1.2.3. works good and it also makes the paint flex, but use a little with each coat also.
good luck,and God bless

Thanks Biker,
using SEM flex paint and according to your advice getting the mini gold flakes. Frame is getting gloss black rust bullet.

Re: Paint Colour
definately, small flake metalic fire engine red and pearl white with metalic silver pin stripes. The chrome is getting stripped, and powder coated satin black, and the pipes are gonna get blacked out when they get changed.freewilly00 wrote:choose want you want as long at it will complement with the design of the vehicle.
