exhausted exhaust.

Postby jbg777 » Fri Jun 24, 2011 4:44 pm

Hello all, i'm a proud new owner of an '81 1100 Interstate! The bike has been pretty well taken of over the years. Only issue is the muffler and pipes. Any recommendations on replacements? Really dont wanna mess up the flow. Thanks.

do you need to replace the entire muffler system from the headers or just the muffler parts?

You can cut off the mufflers and attach jardines or pick up some stock Harley mufflers that most guys take off their bikes..usually cheap aroudn $50..big supply not much market..Or watch ebay for a set of 1100's..usually around $125 plus freight.

You can buy an aftermarket stainless exhaust, I don't remember who makes it, but it's pricey - over $1000. You can buy used ones online, but also pricey - $400 is a good starting point.

A couple people have adapted cheap Harley mufflers. Have a look at these:

Thanks ya'll for the replies. My headers arent bad but the rest is crap. really just need mufflers and tips. I went to the Honda dlr here and they referred me to a local bent bike shop. Those guys were price nazis! Even for a set wasnt much better than what i already have. Oh well, I'll stop belly achin' now.
