1981 interstate gl1100
i just bought my first goldwing a week ago and have been going through it top to bottom. let me first say the bike has sat for 9 years and is in fair shape after all that. Its an 81 gl1100I does any one know how to get the calipers to stop freezing up ?

Take the calibors off the rotor and work them back and forth a couple of times and see if that works. You might have to take the piston out and clean it with some very, very fine emory paper. This is what I had to do to mine after it had sat for some time.

Mine would actually lock up the front wheel and smoke with a 3 mile drive.I found a pinhole bleeder hole plugged in the master cylinder.It's under the reservoir.The brake pressure would not bleed off when releasing the lever.I also found under the caliper "O" rings,corrosion.This swelled under the seal and bound the piston.
