Neutral light comes on only in fourth gear!

Postby rameron » Sun Jul 10, 2011 1:54 pm

I knew this when I bought the bike and is not a big deal. Just wondering how easy it was to fix. I understand that this was done a Honda dealership with the second previous owner and has something to do with the switch being put in backwards. Any help would be appreciated! :?

You have to remove the front engine cover of the bike, rotate the neutral switch 180 degrees, and reinstall - however it's common to have to replace the gasket on this cover when it's removed, and there is a fair bit to disassemble to get to it, so it's not a simple fix. Have a look at How to remove and replace your water pump, starting at step 110, to see what's involved.
