No Power to Headlight

Postby rabbit58 » Mon Jul 11, 2011 4:01 pm

I have no power to my headlight. All the fuses check OK. Does anyone know if ther is a hidden fuse somewhere? All the other lights work fine.

power to the headlight goes through the start button first then to the high/low beam switch.Either could be bad.First thing is to turn on the key and push a little on the start button, watch the headlight for a hint of light.Wiggle it,tap it,it most likely needs cleaning.

Before you run and buy one...
Well I'm adventurous...I'd rip that darling out, tear it apart, clean all the copper contacts, lube it with some dielectric grease, stretch the springs a little and put it back on.

If it sounds like I've done that,Your right. It works.Take time and care obviously.
Your gonna replace it out anyway, what's the harm?

Thanks Virgilmobile, that is what I did, and the contact board was broken, I used a small bit of epoxy on that and it works like a charm. Thanks again for your help!! I would have tore the key soitch apart trying to trace the wiring, you saved me a lot of work!!
