Starter install problem update.

Postby DCoxson1969 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:58 am

Well after many days of trying and failing to get my starter back in, i went to a shop I went to before to find he was no longer there. The shop was Accurate Cycle Service in Valley City Ohio. I was told there that he was out of business. As you know, finding someone to work on the older wings is a challenge. So I decided to try the number on his card I had and it still worked. They in fact did not go out of business but moved to Legrange and is up and running. He found that some time during my starter rebuild I but a burr on the end of the shaft and that was stopping it from going into the gear. He cleaned up the mess I created and had the starter in within 20 minutes bolted in and wired ready to fire. He did the work with the bike still on the trailer and charged me $20. I'm glad he didn't know I was willing to pay alot more to get it done...lol Well thanks to Kevin, my knees are in the breeze again.

I'm glad to hear Kevin's back in business. For a while nobody seemed to know where he was.
