CLUTCH DISSASMBLY

Postby long hauler » Wed Jul 20, 2011 2:55 pm

I my years of riding i have had many 1100 GL'S I NOW OWN 1983 INTERSTATE.I have read lots of the info on goldwing .com and there was one that said u can pull the clutch with out removing the motor but they did not say how. i have worked on many diffrent bikes in my 40 years of riding . And they say u can down load manual but i have tried cant get it. The clutch dose not slip ,lots of pull in the clutch leaver , but it catters at real low speed . I have checked drive train all seems to be close to spec. so if any one can help i sure could use it and manual if it can be done thanks long haul rider' .the bike has 104 thousand km.

Clattering is usually associated with a well synced carb set. Both of my bikes clattered from idle through 1800 rpm untill I synced the carbs.Sounded like 15 bolts rattling in a coffee can.
That said, the clutch can be replaced(except the bucket)without pulling the engine.Got to pull the whole rear end off, swingarm included.

Yes the carbs can be in very good shape, even rebuilt, but until you sync them to the engine there on,a off idle rattle can occur.
Now I'm not saying that's your problem, but is the easiest to eliminate as the cause .
