Hi again, I just changed the spark plugs, oil and filter on my 82 gl1100 interstate started it up and now smoke is coming out of the back pipes. It was fine before no smoke at all.

How much oil did you put in? I know it sounds like a stupid question but if you put in too much you will have a smoking engine.
Does it smoke alot , all the time or just on start up for a minute or so?

I agree. Over filled the oil.

3-1/2 quarts isnt too much. Why cant you see the oil level in the window? Oil level above the top of the window? Drain some out. Dirty on the inside? the slotted thing in the middle of the window is a wiper for the inside of the glass. Give it a couple of turns with a screw driver. to clean the inside of the oil level window. Or you can install an after market dipstick that goes in the oil drain plug hole. you can get one here. http://www.jcwhitney.com/chrome-oil-dip ... ilterid=j3

Look at steps 30 and 31 on How to change your engine oil and you'll see the correct way to check the oil level.
