Back light on gauges not working

Postby mcasteel » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:01 am

The other day my back light on my speedo and tach quit working. The turn signal indicators, the green nutral light and the blue high beam light still work. Have not looked for the problem just been a little too busy but if anyone has ran into this your input will be most appreciated.

I've got a question on this same subject. My backlight is not that bright. It works, but it lights up the top part of the two guages pretty good, but as you go down (vertically) on both guages the light seems to be a lot dimmer. Could the bulb be out of position or what?

There are 2 blubs on each guage, one on the top and the other on the bottom. If the top is lit and the bottom is not. Guess which one is burnt out? Take the 2 nuts off of the back to get to the bulb that you need to repalce.

Thanks tprender! That's real helpful. I'll have to check it out and let you know.
