fuel pump vent

can anyone shed light on the vent on the side of the fuel pump spitting out fuel is it serious or an easy fix 1980 interstate

Diaphragm is leaking.It is just a vent,not a fuel overflow.Rebuild if you can get the parts.

The pump are not meant to be rebuilt they can be but it's not a simple process as the diaphragm is "riveted" in place. There is a how to on Saunders sight and I can sell you a diaphragm $10, if you want to do it..or new pumps can be found for $80
